Robes front
Winter solstice robes, made last year at Stone henge and put into use this year at a local stone circle. The colours are symbolic of the sunrise and the earth, connected by my own footprints made on white fabric that I’d tied to my shoes at the solstice celebrations last year.

Robes back
Working on these robes really inspired me with looking into creating more ritual/folk/celebratory clothing. Here’s a few snapshots of more printmaking I’ve been doing over the past two months.

Folk art in its simple, direct and colourful ways holds a legacy in its symbolism and the ways it can express culture and identity, community values and shared aesthetics. Repurposing the mark humanity has on the land is my personal engagement with the relationship humanity and nature have. Often thought as separate entities, they are, one of the same.
