Intro to Photography

With the cardboard sculpture I made, I had some time to experiment in the photography studio, playing with lighting to see how it’d affect the outcome of my photographs.

This was the first photograph I took with my lights to the side.


These second and third photographs where were I played around with moving the studio lights. As seen above, moving a light can have a massive effect on the look and feel of a photograph. The top one looks more ominous and foreboding but the lower photograph has less shadow to it, giving it more clarity. Personally I prefer the picture with more shadow, it creates a more ambient feel to the entire sculpture I made and generally, it looks more interesting.

This was the last photograph I took, just a clear photo of the other side of my sculpture.
